Adriti

After my training session. I booked a cab to Ishaan's place. It took me 30min to reach his location. I knocked the door waiting for someone to come the door. I was nurvous as fuck cause it was the first time I was meeting Ishaan after our date and plus he was going to introduce me to someone. I was about to knock again till then the door opened. "Hey! Sorry for late. Please come in." Said Ishaan with a smile "Actually I was busy arranging the table so it took me long." "It's okay. No problem." "Is she here?" Said an unknown voice. "Yeah it's her." Ishaan replied. Ishaan took me to their hall and motioned me to sit. The unknown voice person came out from the kitchen. "Hello... myself Dhruv. It's good finally meeting you." He said. "Hii...I'm Adriti." "I know, Ishaan talks a lot about you. He has been smiling all day since your date." Ishaan looked at him with 'you're not supposed to tell that' look. I laughed "it's the same with me." I replied. "Adriti meet Dhruv my bestfriend he's a Neurosurgeon. This guy was dying to meet you!" Said Ishaan. "Ofcourse I was dying. Afterall by buddy is finally dating someone." We three were talking about how Ishaan and Dhruv met and suddenly Dhruv's cell phone rang. "But I'm on a dinner tonight... I don't think I'll be able to make it..... Oh god.... Okay I'll try to be there." He said this and ended the call. I and Ishaan both speaked at the same time out of curiosity "what's wrong?" "Sorry guys I need go there is an emergency in hospital.... I guess we'll continue our conversation next time we meet." "Ohh it's okay." I said. "So you're not gonna eat dinner!?. Comeon dude..." Ishaan said. "I'm sorry buddy. Next time. Adriti it was nice meeting you!" "You too!" "Byee" I and Ishaan both waved at Dhruv and he left.

So it was only I and Ishaan left. "I'll check if the dinner is ready." Said Ishaan. I nodded. After a minute he came back. "Umm... Adriti... Dinner isn't ready yet. It will take some time." "It's okay. I can Wait." "Do you want to take bath?" I was shocked by Ishaan's question. "Huh?" "A bath. I mean you will feel relaxed. I usually take one after coming from academy." Ofcourse he wasn't asking for a bath with him, I'm such a idiot. "No it's okay. I can take one at home." I really was tired and it would take atleast one hour to reach my apartment. "Are you sure? I have guest baths. It's not a big deal. Traffic is a nightmare and while we'll be done with our dinner it will be late." No it would too weird for me to take bath at anyone's house. Especially when that anyone is Ishaan Pandit. I should absolutely, positively, 100 percent not accept his offer. Except I was so tired and body hurt and if I didn't sit down right now i might pass out for the second time in front of him and wouldn't that be embarrassing! "I... Okay. If you don't mind."

I stayed in the tub until the water ran cold. Afterwards I tossed on a fluffy guest robe and slippers and padded into the hallway. Ishaan had offered to run my clothes through the laundry while I was in the bath, so I just needed to grab them before I left. I took my time wandering through the private wing of his house. I didn't want to snoop but I was fascinated by the little peeks into Ishaan's personal life. I paused by the wall of photos outside the primary suite. The photos were arranged in chronological order documenting his life from adorable baby to adult. My lips curved at a picture of toddler Ishaan wearing a birthday hat and a chocolate smudged grin. A few frames down a older version of him. A stern looking older man stood next to him with one hand on his shoulder. I don't think that's Ishaan's father cause they don't look alike atall.

"My seventh birthday." Ishaan's voice pulled my attention away from the adorable photos. He walked out of his bedroom and nodded at the gallery. "That's my uncle. My parents died when I was two and a half." "Ohhh I'm so sorry I didn't-" "no it's okay. My uncle and aunt never made me feel like I don't have parents. They treated me like their own child." "I'm sorry I didn't mean to be nosy." "It's fine. If I didn't want people seeing the pictures, i wouldn't have put them out here." Ishaan shrugged. He must've taken a shower while I was bathing. His hair was damp, and he'd changed our of his earlier cloths into a black T-shirt and shorts. "They're Cute pictures." "Thankyou. The dinner must be ready let's go." I'd been so caught up in this that I almost forgot that I was only wearing a bathrobe. "Are my clothes done?" I asked. "Yeah. They're done I've kept them on bed in guest room." "Okay. I'll join the dinner once I get changed."

We sat in the chair and started our remaining conversation. After sometime we were done with our dinner but not with our conversation. We'd been so caught in the conversation that I hadn't noticed the shift from beutiful summer evening to sudden downpour. "Shit," Ishaan said. Out earlier moment was gone, shattered by the distraction and our gradual return to our scenes. At least that applied to me I had no idea what he thinking. "We should get you home before the rain gets worse. I'll check on my driver. He'll drop you ho-" A notification popped from both of ours phone. 'A flash flood warning is in effect for this area until 8am IST. This is a dangerous and life threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are feeling an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.'

8am IST. That was tomorrow morning. Which meant... Ishaan and I lifted our heads and stared at each other in horror. Which meant I was stuck here for the night.
